Pain

The pain is debilitating in my hip. My hip to become my hips. Left hip. Right hip. Both hips.

I left my crutches near my door planning to throw them out on New Years Eve. I was looking forward to throwing those crutches away as 2019 turned to 2020. I didn’t. I couldn’t. Because I needed them again.

The setback on December 27, 2019 would wreck havoc on my left hip. Not just my left hip, but my my body as a whole, my emotions, my mental well being, and shortly later, my right hip.

I cried and pleaded to understand what happened. Why did I lose the strength I gained in a fraction of a second? Why was I suffering such pain? Why was I swelling up?

My leg was pulled and the hip adjusted out of the socket and back in. I believe the hip didn’t go back in correctly and when I took some steps about 30 minutes after this took place, the hip popped back in causing that lightning bolt of pain from my hip to my groin that I felt and then the strength was gone, the pain onset and I was left bed ridden in agony.

Weeks would go by with me struggling and not ridding myself of the pain and not gaining the strength back. No meds I took would help. Therapy didn’t help either. The new therapist tried but my body would shut down. Each time I’d try to get on the left hip, I’d be sent back to bed. There was no getting past it. There was no making progress. My body would not cooperate. It was crying for help and no one was listening.

Eventually I would get an MRI with contrast done of the left hip. It would show the high probability of the labrum being torn again. It showed the hip rotated in the socket. It showed edema, trochanteric bursitits, tendon fraying and osteoarthritis. Basically, my hip was fucked! This was the explanation of why I couldn’t gain my strength back, make progress, be pain free.

As I received these results, I mentioned that the right hip was not holding up and showing signs of labrum tear again. I was feeling pain again from the hip and in the groin. I hadn’t felt this since before that hip was operated. That hip was repaired in August 2019. Why is it acting up again?

An MRI with contrast was ordered of that hip. The results would show this hip was rotated in the socket as well. It also showed gluteus minimus tendon tear, hamstring tear with inflammation of the tissue surrounding the tendons. So this hip is fucked too!

The cure = hip replacement.
