Then Again

Not too long ago I read “Then Again” by Diane Keaton. The book was a good read. Diane’s story was very personal, inviting the reader in to her family, her struggles, her life and her mother’s. It was a heartwarming read. The picture she paints of Alzheimer’s is not a pretty one. It’s a terrible debilitating disease. It’s a disease that I am frightened of even at my young age.

I related to her mother’s story. I felt connected to the things Diane said about her mom and the life she led or lack thereof. Not too long ago, I was given an opportunity which is now taking me in the direction of fulfilling my dreams. I’m one step closer. I plan to be satisfied with my life and not have regrets like Diane’s mom. And I pray to never be taken over by Alzheimer’s disease.

Life is what we make of it. We have control over our choices. My feelings are to be grateful no matter what and to never settle.

It’s all just a matter of time.
