That’s the way the ball bounces

I was waiting so eagerly for my break from school. The semester was coming to an end and then I crashed down the stairs. I was focused all semester, my first semester, at school. I learned how to be a student again. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t my only job. The past four months were really rough. I was looking forward to peach martinis and champagne cocktails with friends. No fancy cocktails for me.

I am now working from home because of the Big Blizzard or as it was labeled in the news Snowpocalypse 2010; even worse for Bloomberg – Bloomberg Blizzard. Ouch! It’s impossible for me to get out and now I’m loosing money and time from work. The one positive thing about this is I can work on my personal stuff like blogging, reading, researching and social networking.

While working on facebook er playing er networking – Urban Dictionary posted the definition of ‘Whatever’. The other day there was a string of posts on a friends page about the word ‘Whatever’. I sent him the link for Urban’s word of the day today. Out of this came a brilliant idea! Ted, my friend, said he was a man of vision and brains. Hmmmm I needed a minute to think about that. It’s true he is! My hmmmm could be taken for the famous ‘Whatever’. But according to me, Jen, it’s not. If I was going to say ‘Whatever’ I would just say it. I said hmmmmm which meant I was just thinking but really not because I agreed with his comment; I just wanted to play. So, to get to the point, my friend Ted said I should write My Jen Rules because I have a lot to say. There’s also the fact that I’m a princess. This isn’t just decided by me but by family and friends. As a princess I make up my own rules. Ted has duly noted this fact; others also.

So, rule #1 of Jen’s Rules is

Unless you actually say ‘Whatever’ then you didn’t say it. It can’t be assumed you are saying it. It has to be stated.

A new tab is born named “Jen’s Rule’s”. Under this tab are the rules I live by that can be changed, updated or added to. These are the immediate rules that come to mind. These rules not only reflect who I am and how I roll but they are also rules I have learned and created from my life’s experiences. Opinions that have formed over time due to the many things that have happened as I have grown.

Remember in life we never stop learning. This blog and anything I write can be changed, deleted, added to or updated at any time. As long as I am alive and breathing I will continue to grow as a person. For that is the way the ball bounces.
